My name is Piotrek (to my friends Piter). I am 47 years old, have always lived in Gliwice and have been confined to a wheelchair since I was nine years old. I used to think that, despite my disability, I was a normal person who had the right to have my dreams. That was before I realised that the illness condemning me to a life in a wheelchair did not entitle me to realise even these basic desires. My greatest success in life is that I have managed to create a happy Family. Together with my wife Alina we are raising our three beloved children: Szymek, Julia and Wiktoria. I know that against the background of other people's life achievements this is almost nothing, but for me it is something I never dared to dream of. I never thought that someone could love me and that we could create a real Family together. Unfortunately, my Wife also struggles with a serious illness that does not allow her to lead a normal social life. We are not wealthy people...in truth, we barely make ends meet. Despite these difficulties, we do our best to ensure that our Children do not lack joy and love. As my beloved Family has grown, I have started to notice a housing problem. We all live together in a little over 40m flat on the ground floor. The kitchen, bathroom, living room which is the double bedroom, living room and room for the youngest Victoria and a small room for the other two children. In all this, there's still me and my pram, which needs to "steal" some space from others in order to move around freely. It's not easy, but nobody complains. We know that by having ourselves, we have the essentials. Above our flat, however, there is an attic that is inaccessible to me. And it is this attic that is the subject of my collection. I would like to adapt it into rooms for the children. The state of my health after almost 40 years of continuous strong medication makes me suspect that I will not live to see my children grow up. However, as long as I am here with them, I would like to provide everything I can for them. I hope that about 40,000PLN will be enough to renovate the attic (insulating the roof slope, putting in partition walls, painting, carrying out installations, furnishing and making a safe staircase). At least that's how I calculated it. I don't have a penny, but I will try to organise the missing 10,000 on my own. Unfortunately, I don't have the remaining 30,000 and I see no other way of raising it than asking strangers with big hearts for help. Therefore, I dare to ask for your support in my efforts to provide my family with better living conditions and my children with better development. Your help is simply everything to me. People of good heart...I know that there are many collections. But I also know that there is no shortage of people who can share good things. I would be very grateful if you would support my request with even a small donation. In the attached photos you can see us, our flat and the attic, which is currently a repository of old toys and in my dreams a living space for my beloved ones. My Family and I send you all our warmest greetings. Thank you for every help, even the smallest one. Piter, Alina, Szymek, Julcia and Wiktoria
