Those who know me know that as a single parent, my motto for most of my life has been "we’ll find a way." While I’ve had help along the way, I’ve worked incredibly hard to build everything that is important to me on my own. Now, I have reached a point where, for the sake of my own growth, I need to ask for your support—so that later, I may be able to help others even more effectively.

For me, this journey is about more than just learning techniques. I believe that between Earth and Air, there lies Fire. Energy. The challenge of the human experience is to learn to contain and direct this energy, ensuring it becomes a life-giving, rather than a destructive force, in our lives. India offers the best environment for this profound learning.

I have found a master who will guide me through the depths of breathing techniques (Pranayama) during an intensive 30-day journey. This is more than just a trip: my goal is to return and lead sessions where I can help people with stress management, mindfulness, and maintaining their health. It is about getting closer to the path of becoming "master of oneself."

In addition, I am a deep believer in sustainability. Sustainable architecture is not just a theory for me: I am already an active practitioner of earthbuilding (adobe), and I am well-acquainted with local materials and techniques here at home. However, India has ancient, specialized traditions of natural building using earth and stone. I want to study their unique methods on-site—specifically their stone-working and mud-wall techniques—so I can bring this knowledge back to better support local eco-builders and conscious homeowners.
