My name is Róbert Somogyi. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hope that there is still kindness in this world.

Over the past months, I became the victim of a cruel online fraud scheme. I was approached by individuals who claimed to offer various financial benefits and support – but only after I made certain payments upfront. Each time, they promised it would be the last step, that help was just around the corner. Desperate and trusting, I believed them. Again and again.

Looking back, the warning signs, the red flags were there. But I didn’t see them. I didn’t want to see them. I believed that help was coming. What I didn’t realise was that I was being pulled deeper into a trap by people who prey on those who are vulnerable, hopeful, or simply too trusting.

Now, I am left not only emotionally shaken but also financially broken. I am in serious debt from trying to ‘unlock’ what I thought was support – support that never came. On top of this, I urgently need hip surgery that I can’t afford, which is making it impossible for me to work and regain control of my life.

I never imagined I’d be in this situation, and I never imagined I’d have to ask for help like this. But here I am – turning to kind-hearted strangers and friends, asking for support to get back on my feet.
