The International Film Festival "Art Fools" is hosted in its area

Thessaly (Greece) since 2008 and has formed an artistic identity that

mainly aims to promote the European film art by supporting

activities and initiatives of European audiovisual works, to increase the

public knowledge and supporting public interest in European

audiovisual works. In the years of the covid epidemic the festival was forced to

adapt the program and its modes of presentation at the online level, something

which, however, increased its audience both in terms of population and spatial planning, but there was reluctance

from sponsors to finance actions that would not gather an audience through

of life. Added to the above difficulties was the great natural disaster with the floods from

which were tested in Thessaly, which is also the main action area of the festival. THE

region of Thessaly suffered the greatest disaster of the last 100 years

as entire properties were buried under the mud and swept away by the

rushing waters of rivers and rain. The margins of action of the festivals and

of culture in general narrowed dangerously as interest shifted and the

citizens' needs. Businesses suffered huge losses because of them

which suspended their funding of festivals and culture in general. The

state institutions gave priority to the financial coverage of the losses from the

disasters depriving money from cultural activities.
