Our dear friend Karen (49) was diagnosed with a rare form of colon cancer in mid-June (stage 3 and inoperable). The treatment plan is long and difficult: an intensive combination of chemo and radiation. Bravely, as always, Karen says: 'I am getting on the treatment train and will not get off until I am healed'.
Her will, strength and positivity are there (and are admirable)! But as a single mother of 3 children there are financial headaches. During long-term sick leave, her income falls to 70% of her salary (full-time job) and in addition to the medical treatment costs, there are additional costs for family help, frequent transport to/from hospital, etc.
Unfortunately, we cannot take away her pain and fear. But please help her financially! It would mean a lot to Karen, who is always there for others. And for her 3 darling children!
