My name is Theo. I’m a director and postproduction specialist with more than 25 years of experience creating visual stories. I’m raising funds to produce a free historical documentary series for YouTube, beginning with the story of the Greek Orthodox communities of Pontus, on the Black Sea coast of Asia Minor, and their departure from their homeland during the upheavals of the early 1920s.

This history lives in books, articles, records and family memories. Yet many people have never encountered it. I want to bring it to a wider audience through a series grounded in historical research and told with the visual power of cinema. Carefully made dramatic sequences, maps, sound and narration will help viewers understand the places, events and human experiences behind the historical record.

This project matters deeply to me. Stories of displacement deserve to be remembered, studied and shared across generations. My goal is to create work that is compelling to watch and responsible in how it presents historical facts.

The series will be available to everyone on YouTube at no charge. Because I do not plan to monetize it, I’m asking for crowdfunding support to make production possible. Contributions will help pay for research and source materials, writing, historical review, visual production, music, narration, sound design, editing and the other work needed to complete the episodes.
