As Polish international students from Erasmus University Rotterdam, we are devastated after constantly hearing what is happening in different places in Poland. 

In the middle of September, severe floods have caused widespread destruction in Poland. It left around 10 000 people without electricity, many injured and even a few dead. There are 95 roads blocked and also bridges collapsed, making it impossible for either help to arrive or affected to escape. Private homes and vital city infrastructure have also been destroyed. Now, those people need help to recover from the damage and secure basic necessities. 

As Erasmus Polish Student Society we are organising a fundraising campaign to help people affected. As students ourselves we believe in the power of community and therefore we are calling on the students and global citizens to stand in solidarity with Polish people and help.

We may be far from home but we know we can make a difference. Every help matters and all donations will be paid out to the Polish Red Cross for providing food, clean water, medical supplies and other things needed.
