I am 30 years old and I received a diagnosis that broke my heart: infertility. I was told that my only chance to become a mother is through in vitro fertilisation, a procedure that costs €6,000 — an amount I cannot possibly raise.
I want with all my heart to hold my own baby in my arms, to hear the word "mummy" for the first time. My parents died in an accident when I was only 14, and my aunt raised me with great difficulty and sacrifice. I have been married for two years, we love each other and dream of becoming parents, but our dream is slow to come true.
I am young, but I carry a huge desire in my heart: to be a mother.
