Little Mortimer is a stray kitten found last year, end of August, rather dead than alive, in some bushes from an urban park in Bucharest! nobody saw this little soul to save him! when we encountered the kitten, in our daily morning running tour, we did not waste too much time and took the weak kitten at home.. from that moment until now, we entered a never ending adventure with this little cuteness, because he was very ill from the very beginning: rinotraheitis, panleukopenia, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and, finally, the deadly kick - PIF - feline infectious peritonitis, the most dangerous and expensive disease!

The first thing after taking him at home was to have a veterinarian check on him, so we took him to the vet; as his situation was very serious, he was hospitalized from the very beginning and put to injectable therapy. From then, started for us a strange odyssey in the veterinarians world, with their huge prices. Every hospitalization day costs around 30-40 euros (in Romania, a monthly salary is around 500-700 euro, just to have an overall picture), we left him there for about three months until it was impossible for us to pay anymore the daily fees, and, at a moment in time within these three months, the vet took over the treatment responsibility with no costs form our side, but with the promise that, in the end, when everything would be fine, we adopt the kitten and not abandon him there. We agreed with the proposal, and after about three months of hospitalization, we finally took the kitten at home, it was around end of October- beginning of November.

Everything looked so fine, we were so happy, the little kitten was sooo cute, so playful, we had another cat and they were hanging around, getting along each other sooo well, and everything looked sooo mirific! Christmas time came with lost of presents for our cats, and they enjoyed the period so much! but our joy suddenly ended beginning of February when the kitten stared to feel sick and had no appetite, for play for food, for nothing! he was just staying hidden, just like waiting too die! we ran to the vet again, and after a sum of analysis, it was discovered the PIF virus - dry variant. We started that very evening the GS injections, somebody borrowed us some vials, and after some days the kitten started, step by step, to feel better and alive. But, with what cost? with a huge cost.. one GS vial is 100 eur and the treatment lasts for at least 84 days.. useless to say that I contracted a bank credit in order to pay this treatment.. around Easter time, when the 84 days were over, we stopped the injections and considered the kitten healed! But again we were wrong, and again we received a deadly kick - after two weeks the kitten got a PIF relapse neuro version, the most dangerous and with less hopes to survive. His state was completely critical, was again hospitalized with no chances to survive, but again I fought for him and never let him down - took him to the best PIF doctor in town and received a new treatment, consisting from pills this time, so we take 4 pills of GS per day, one pill is 17 euro, the duration is 30 days!!! this was a huge and complete shock for us as his illness left us with no money and in order to pay for these pills we would have to make a credit again, for 2000 euros, but that is impossible, we already have one for the first part of the treatment with the vials, the 84 days! and the treatment must not be interrupted at all.

In this sense, we ask you to help this little soul in his trip to a normal and healthy life and us in succeeding to pay this second part of treatment.. the costs are overwhelming us, because, as mentioned previously, this is not the first treatment.
