Hello! We are SkyWeavers, a quadball team from Łódź, Poland (formerly known as quidditch). Thanks to our systematic work and determination, we secured second place in the Polish Quadball League, earning us the opportunity to represent Poland in the European Quadball Cup. However, the journey to Spain requires financial support due to significant costs. Every donation brings us closer to our chance for success on the international stage.

What and how much are we specifically fundraising for?

We are sending a 22-person representation of Weavers to the European Cup. The cost per player is approximately 400 EU, covering:

Flight – around 140 EU

Accommodation – around 185 EU

Tournament fee – around 70 EU

Insurance – around 12 EU

Quadball? I'm not familiar...

Perhaps "quidditch" sounds more familiar? Yes, our sport has its roots in the Harry Potter series! But don't be misled by its origin – it's not just a game; it's a dynamic and engaging team sport. Quadball combines elements of handball, dodgeball, and rugby. It is the only full-contact coeducational sport.

And why do we call it quadball? Because there are four balls in the game. One is used for scoring goals, and the remaining three are for temporarily eliminating players from the game (similar to dodgeball). There's another gameplay element – capturing the flag, formerly known as the "Golden Snitch." The flag runner, dressed in a special outfit, appears on the field in the 20th minute of the game. One player from each team tries to capture the flag, and its capture can end the game.

European Quadball Cup:

The EQC is held annually in two divisions. Each country receives a pool of spots in the first and/or second division, determined by Quidditch Europe (the organization uniting European teams), and qualifications are conducted within national leagues. Last year, we participated in EQC, thanks to the support of everyone involved, for which we sincerely thank you! This year, we are also qualifying for EQC D2, which will take place in Salou, Spain, on March 16-17, 2024.

About SkyWeavers Łódź:

Our team was founded in 2018 as the first quadball team in Łódź (formerly quidditch). Since then, we have been rapidly developing, recruiting new players, and climbing up the tables at Polish and European tournaments. Our recent successes include:

1st place in the Winter Games 2023 tournament

1st place in the lower bracket at the EQC D2 2023 tournament

Fielding two teams in the Summer Games 2023 tournament for the first time in the Polish quadball league

In addition to regular year-round training sessions, we focused on team integration through various social meetings, went on a sports-integration trip, and concluded the season with a lively gala.

Our journey to the European tournament in Spain has been full of challenges, and now we face the final obstacle - the financial one.
