Descripción
AlgoLab is a new research unit dedicated to developing next-generation predictive algorithms, wave-based computing, and high-performance computational methods.
Created in partnership with NOVA IMS and led by Rodrigo Maria Campilho Champalimaud and Professor Raul Tello Rato, AlgoLab’s mission is to position Portugal as a global hub for advanced algorithmic science.
Our research is focused on:
- Anticipatory algorithms for real-time forecasting in energy, finance, and climate systems
- Wave computing and photonic processing units (the future beyond silicon)
- Blockchain, cryptography, and distributed intelligence
- High-impact IP creation to generate patents, spin-offs, and international partnerships
AlgoLab recently received national recognition, winning 2nd Prize in the Portuguese Ministry of Defense Innovation Award (2024) for research in wave-based computational architectures.
Your contribution directly supports:
- Research equipment and computational infrastructure
- Student researchers, scientists, and developers
- Patent filings, prototypes, and scientific publications
- The creation of Portugal’s first lab fully dedicated to algorithmic innovation
By supporting AlgoLab, you are investing in the scientific future of Portugal and in breakthrough technologies that will shape global industries.
Thank you for helping us build the next generation of algorithmic intelligence.
