Zeena is a six-year-old girl who urgently needs medical help and, like most Gazans, cannot receive it at the moment.

Zeena, a Gazan girl and daughter of a good friend of mine, was born with a serious congenital heart disease called Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), consisting of an abnormal communication between the cardiac chambers that puts her life at risk.

Due to the complexity and severity of her illness, Zeena, who is Gazan and lives in Gaza with her parents, was treated and evaluated at an advanced and modern hospital in Israel, The Edith Wolfson University Medical Center, where she visited periodically for check-ups. necessary. In fact, in Israel she had surgery at the age of 4 to partially correct her heart defect; and there she was implanted with a pacemaker, necessary to treat the electrical abnormalities of his heart. Pacemaker who was periodically checked in Israel, as was her general state of health, before the outbreak of the current war.

Since the war began, Zeena has not received any medical visits nor has she been able to travel to Israel to continue her medical care. No Gazan can leave Gaza. In addition to the constant bombings in which thousands of civilians (and thousands of children) are dying, and the lack of water, food and medicine that puts her life at risk, Zeena needs to be re-evaluated as soon as possible by a pediatric cardiologist.

That is why we request your financial help. With your contribution, Zeena's parents could be able to transfer her to Egypt or the West Bank, places where she could receive the help she needs.
