Descripción
House of Ukraine Stockholm wishes to conduct three week summer camps in the summer of 2024 for a total of 240 children and 20 families from Ukraine in collaboration with the Eknäs Gård. Set in 15 hectares of idyllic countryside, 35 kilometres south of Stockholm - Eknäs Gård site provides pupils with unrivalled, practical learning opportunities and experiences.
The aim and objective is to give the children an unforgettable summer week to those that could not otherwise afford to experience something new, get to know new friends, Sweden and have real fun.
During this week, we not only want to give the children the opportunity to develop their creativity and imagination through dance, theatre, creative workshops as a way to also process their traumas, we also want to give them the opportunity to discover and get to know Swedish summer at its best- at the countryside - På Landet – after spending two summers in the the city that may no longer be just a temporary stop but their new hometown. This could be a fantastic transition towards integration. We want to show off and share the cultural treasures of Sweden, fantastic nature and practice Swedish.
