There are plenty of projects on fundraising web pages related to historic building renovation, cultural events and arts support. Our project is unique because it covers all three areas at the same time.

The tower dominating the historic sanatorium of Dr. Brehmer in Sokołowsko, rebuilt by the In Situ Contemporary Art Foundation, is in danger of collapsing!

For 15 years, numerous events have been held in the surroundings and spaces of the historic building. These events are not only a part of Sokoowsko's artistic life, but are also among the most significant cultural events in Poland. They are internationally recognized as well. Sanatorium of Sound Festival, Hommage à Kieślowski Film Festival, Konteksty or The Mountains of Literature already had limited space this year.

Broken fragments of the damaged tower pierced the roof of part of the building, eliminating two rooms from use. Imagine how devastating a collapsed tower would be for these unique artistic projects!

Not only are the regular attendees of the above-mentioned festivals familiar with the Sokolowsko sanatorium, but so are readers of famous Polish authors Olga Tokarczuk or Joanna Bator. We need your help now. The tower must be saved! It's time to eliminate the monument threat! It's time to put culture back where it belongs! Your support is crucial to the In Situ Foundation!

The tower repair costs more than PLN 280,000. The work requires scaffolding suspension using 50-meter cranes. On them, a specialized team under the supervision of a conservator has to reposition the tower's ceramic helmet brick by brick. They will also replace damaged fittings with new ones made to resemble the original ones. The restored building should be protected with special fungicides and consolidating the structure of the clinker.
