Hello everyone,

I never thought I would use this platform because I have always been ashamed of it. Please don't misunderstand me, I donate a lot for cancer and help animals all over the world by donating wherever I can, but I have never started a fundraiser for myself.

I would like to take you on a little journey. I love animals and cats in particular. After our beloved but sadly deceased cat Mo, we - let's call it fate - got another 2 cats (brothers) from the animal shelter. It was love at first sight.

Mars and Oreo (about 6 months old at the time).

We really went through a turbulent time, unfortunately Mars got sick first and had to go to the vet very often after he had just moved in with us with his brother for a week over Christmas.

Luckily he recovered, but then Oreo started. Oreo seemed very robust and healthy at the beginning. Then the day came when we thought we had to let the young little cat go because he had terrible blood values ​​and his general condition was more than bad. He stopped eating and could barely stand on his feet. We went through a few vets when he was almost 3 years old. Maybe I'm speaking for one or two people here, because not all doctors are the same. 

He was in a hospital for 6 days, then he was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. 

At first it was a huge shock for us, but we got all the help and advice and information we could get. I also had to jump over my own darling and quickly learn to give Oreo his insulin injection twice a day within 12 hours. 

We received the diagnosis last April 2024. Oreo is also very sensitive and cannot eat everything because he has intolerances. Currently and until further notice he is only allowed to eat one type of special food. this costs around €2,616 a year for Oreo alone. 

I'm asking for your help and support, as the food is really expensive in the long run, but he needs it and gets it. He also needs diabetic supplies like a human. Unfortunately, Oreo is still not properly controlled, as he was currently undergoing treatment and had to have teeth pulled because he has FORL. 

We're really looking forward to your donations, that would help us a lot with the monthly costs. We love them both like our children, so they should get all the help they need.
