Leo is my loyal friend and companion. He was discovered six years ago, injured and underweight, wandering alone in the mountains of Gran Canaria, Spain. Since then, we've been virtually inseparable. He is the best!

Hello, my name is Stevie Bird. I am 73 years old and am fundraising to get off the streets of Spain and return to the United Kingdom. I do not have any money, savings, or income.

There's only me and Leo. And we are hungry.

I've been living and working in Spain for 25 years, supporting myself and others. I founded and ran my own business for 13 years before it closed owing to the C-19 lockdowns. I no longer have any money, cash, or assets.

I am not eligible to receive a Spanish pension or other benefits from the Spanish Social Services.

I've sold a lot of my personal belongings just to survive. Now I have nothing left to sell.

I have, of course, looked for work, but no one wants to hire a 73-year-old! I can speak some Spanish, but not fluently.

I am now without a place to live, and I am desperate to return to the UK with Leo.

I try to embrace life fully, in every moment. Three years ago, I was the CEO of my own distribution company.

Now I have no income or home, and my savings have run out!

My goal is to do whatever I can to improve my situation, and to do what I am at best at - making a difference.

I have not lived in the UK in over 25 years. My mother, father, and sister have died, and I have no other family. Many colleagues and friends have relocated or, unfortunately, passed away. I no longer have any active contacts in the UK. But there are far more opportunities for me there. And it is my home.
