Hello, this is our son Alexander... Alexander is 15 years old and was born with Wyburn-Mason syndrome. The blood vessels in his brain are far too thin and therefore sometimes rupture, resulting in multiple brain haemorrhages. Unfortunately, there is no cure.

Because of his condition, he also has epilepsy, uncontrollable spasms and now has a feeding tube, as swallowing is becoming increasingly difficult.

He also has a learning disability.

But Alexander is our superhero; he never gives up and is the centre of our lives.

We have chosen to care for Alexander at home. And we have been doing this for quite some time now, with great pleasure.

Over the last three years, we have transformed our home so that we can provide him with all the care he needs. All the equipment has been bought by us or is rented so that he can live comfortably and with dignity at home, surrounded by his family.

Unfortunately, however, the costs are sky-high. Alexander takes rare medication, only a very small portion of which is reimbursed; he requires tube feeding; and transport to and from hospital in a reclining position is also expensive.

Any amount is therefore more than welcome. In all honesty, we can use all the help we can get at the moment.
