Hello everyone,

I think everyone goes through life thinking it won't happen to me. The shock of finding out I had CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukaemia) in 2016 and then polyneuropathy in 2017 was devastating at the time. I was very active and thought I was pretty healthy.

I'm not going to talk at length about what I went through with my illness as everyone reacts differently, so what happened to me may not be the same for someone else.

I always have a very positive attitude.

That is the most important part of my journey. I couldn't have done it without the help of my wonderful family - my husband Frank and my sons Frank Wene & David, who have been absolutely wonderful in looking after me and encouraging me. I love them dearly and thank God for the blessing of this loving family.

Now back to 2016, I was told it wouldn't affect me much for about ten (10) years so I put the information on hold and forgot all about it and led a very active lifestyle until 2018.

2019 started a bad year with extensive chemotherapy being used, which had taken control of the CLL. Overall, I coped very well with the chemotherapy, but had some side effects that had to be dealt with. I drastically changed my diet with no fat, minimal dairy products, no sugar and lots of fruit and vegetables. I also ate only hormone-free meat and fish two to three times a week. I also supplemented my diet with folic acid, vitamin E, Adalese, lysine, vitamin C powder mixed with orange juice, wheatgrass, barley green and B12 injections every fortnight.

In mid-2019, I then started a new method where I was treated under the natural treatment (costs are not covered by health insurance) via my GP. This method helped me very well and my CLL was completely fine, so I thought I had been cleared of it.

Unfortunately this was not the case and the cancer came back in 2024, since then I have continued to struggle with the cancer, with hardly any strength and very tired.

For financial reasons I can't afford the method I would like to do again as 2024 was a year of horror.

My husband was very ill himself and was ill for over 11 months. I myself continued to work full-time with not much strength and held out as best I could.

Unfortunately, however, I am getting worse from month to month and for this reason I am asking for help for myself and my family so that I can start my therapy again and we can see a little light again from the deep hole.
