I would like to qualify as a train driver by booking my own course with DVI (a subsidiary of ČD).

I find the profession interesting and meaningful; I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.

If I successfully raise the funds and obtain the licence, this will give me the opportunity to have a job that isn’t toxic and meaningless for me, as is often the case in a typical corporation (one might be lucky enough to find a good company, but I have now decided to choose a specific direction and a clear focus), it will allow me, through a well-paid job, to realise my other plans (studying, pursuing my interest in natural sciences, ecology and welfare), and to be an active person who has or supports a worthwhile project.

I am thirty-one years old; my long-standing interests include railways and transport, as well as travel, nature, animals and my own menagerie. I have worked in various roles across different sectors; apart from some scientific and translation work, I would no longer want to do sedentary work in one place at a computer. Most recently, I worked as a train conductor, which I found very interesting and felt at home in. Becoming a train driver has been my intention for a long time, but due to an unstable relationship and constantly changing circumstances, I haven’t been able to make it happen. My goal is to drive for SBB or OEBB, which would require me to improve my French by one level and my German significantly; however, my primary plan for gaining experience is to work for a Czech transport operator.

What exactly will the money from this fundraiser be used for?
