The 25-year-old Vaya was diagnosed in February 2023 with throat cancer that had covered the thyroid organ, the larynx, and the tumor was so large that it had reached the point of preventing food and air from passing through the esophagus. The cancer had metastasized to the larynx. After the surgery, the nerves of the vocal cords were severed, resulting in the need for multiple surgeries to restore the vocal cords and a laryngoscope.

After the surgery, a series of chemotherapy treatments followed, which was put on hold when she learned that she was pregnant with her first child.

Today, Vaia has given birth to her 3-month-old baby and is asking us all to help raise money to restore her vocal cords through critical larynx surgery and begin her treatments to beat cancer and prevent its spread and metastasis to other organs. One euro makes the difference. The treatments and surgery will take place at Guy's Cancer Center in London when the money is raised.
