Short description

UWAO – United World Academic Organisation is being developed as a global network connecting academic institutions, research centres, libraries, archives, museums, think tanks, specialists, supporters and other knowledge-based organisations. The next phase focuses on building the digital, institutional and operational infrastructure required for meaningful international cooperation.

A global network for knowledge

Knowledge already exists in thousands of universities, academies, research centres, libraries, archives, museums, think tanks and specialist institutions around the world.

The challenge is often not the absence of knowledge.

It is connection.

UWAO – United World Academic Organisation is being developed as an international platform designed to connect institutions, people, expertise and opportunities across borders.

Not another university

UWAO is not intended simply to become another university competing with existing institutions.

Its purpose is to create an additional layer of cooperation: a global network in which existing institutions remain independent while gaining new opportunities to connect, exchange, collaborate and develop joint initiatives.

What we want to connect

Over time, the UWAO network can include universities, academies, research institutes, libraries, archives, museums, think tanks, foundations, professional societies, educational organisations, specialists, students, supporters and institutional partners.

The objective is not to collect logos.

The objective is to create useful connections.

Phase 1 – Structure & Governance

The first phase strengthens the organisational basis of UWAO: documentation, governance, responsibilities, project structure and the framework required for sustainable international development.

Phase 2 – Digital Global Platform

A global network needs a professional digital backbone.

This phase develops the digital infrastructure for institutional profiles, partner relations, project information, communication, collaboration and future knowledge resources.

Phase 3 – Institutional Network Development

UWAO will systematically connect with universities, research centres, knowledge institutions and other partners across regions and disciplines.

Each relationship should lead to a realistic path for exchange, collaboration or future project development.

Phase 4 – People & Expertise

Institutions matter, but people make cooperation work.

UWAO therefore also seeks academics, researchers, educators, specialists, project leaders, networkers and committed supporters who want to contribute knowledge, experience, introductions or practical participation.

Phase 5 – Programmes & Exchange

The network should become visible through activity.

Early programmes can include lectures, roundtables, publications, thematic working groups, academic exchange, collaborative research preparation, educational cooperation and institutional events.

Phase 6 – Operational Hub

As the network grows, UWAO intends to establish an operational office or coordination hub as a working, meeting and organisational base for international cooperation.

Phase 7 – Own Institutions & Global Nodes

The long-term vision extends beyond a digital network.

Where there is clear need, strong partnerships and sustainable financing, UWAO may establish or maintain its own permanent facilities — for example coordination hubs, research and meeting centres, archives, learning spaces or other knowledge-oriented institutions.

These facilities will be developed gradually and only where they add clear value to the wider network.

First funding target – EUR 150,000

The first development cycle is planned approximately as follows:

EUR 15,000 – governance, structure and administration

EUR 30,000 – digital global platform

EUR 25,000 – institutional network development

EUR 20,000 – people, experts and programme coordination

EUR 25,000 – pilot programmes and academic exchange

EUR 20,000 – operational office / UWAO hub

EUR 15,000 – compliance, documentation and development reserve

If the full target is not reached

UWAO is deliberately structured in phases.

Less funding means a smaller or slower implementation — not failure.

Available resources will first be applied to the highest-priority organisational, digital and networking steps.

If the target is exceeded

Additional funding will accelerate the same development path.

It can support more institutional partnerships, additional programmes, stronger digital infrastructure, wider regional outreach and earlier preparation of permanent UWAO facilities.

More than crowdfunding

Financial support is one form of participation.

Expertise, institutional introductions, access to knowledge, venues, networks, research opportunities and personal commitment may be equally valuable.

You can support.

You can contribute.

You can connect.

You can host.

You can build.

And, through sustained contribution, you may eventually help lead projects or areas of responsibility.

The invitation

UWAO is intended to become a network in which independent institutions and people can create more together than they could separately.

Connect knowledge.

Link institutions.

Enable collaboration.

Help build places where ideas can become lasting structures.

What would you like to connect?
