Help me relocate to a larger city to be able to work and build a stable future
Hello,
I am currently trying to rebuild my life after a long period of struggling to find stable employment in a small town with very limited job opportunities.
Despite actively searching for work, applying for positions, and taking occasional jobs to cover basic expenses and existing financial obligations, I have not been able to secure stable long-term employment. After many months of trying to improve my situation locally, I have come to the conclusion that relocating to a larger city such as Zagreb, Varaždin, or any other city nearby (I'm living in northern Croatia) with significantly more opportunities is the most realistic path toward financial stability and independence. For start, I would probably go to Varaždin because it's more cheap than Zagreb, especially the rent.
My plan
My goal is not simply to move, but to relocate to an area where I can access stable but also a part time employment opportunities that are currently unavailable to me.
I am able to work immediately through delivery platforms such as Wolt, Glovo, and Uber, which would allow me to start earning income shortly after relocating. Unfortunately, these opportunities are not realistically available where I currently live due to the small population and limited demand bacause those services are available only in larger cities.
Delivery work is currently the fastest and most realistic way for me to start earning an income immediately after relocating. I can start very soon and it provides a source of income and allows me to support myself during the transition period while I continue searching for stable long-term employment. I consider it as a starting point and bridge to get to the larger city with more opportunities and start earning again.
Because I want this transition to be financially sustainable, my goal is to relocate around the beginning of the month and start working immediately. Starting at the beginning of the month would allow me to build a full month's income cycle and better balance my first expenses with my earnings, instead of arriving mid-month and facing higher initial costs before receiving a full income.
My goal is to gather the necessary funds by the end of the month so I can relocate and begin this new chapter on July 1st with a clear plan: start working, support myself, and continue building stability.
Alongside delivery work, I will continue actively applying for permanent positions, visiting companies directly, and searching for long-term employment that will provide financial stability because online applying to vacancies from a small town doesn't give result.
I have also applied for an affordable housing program available only in larger cities where empty flats exist. If I am already established in one of the cities included in the program, with employment and active work, this can improve my eligibility and give me a better chance of securing more affordable housing. That's an additional reason why relocating and doing delivery work would mean a lot of me and give me more chance to get to affordable rent in the future.
This is an additional reason why relocating sooner is important for me. It would allow me to start working, become financially active, establish myself in the city, and create a more stable foundation for the future.
I also plan to complete an accounting course available also in larger cities (one part only can be done online) to improve my qualifications and increase my chances of securing stable office or administrative employment in the future. I already have some basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, and I would like to build on that foundation through professional training and certification.
Expanding my accounting skills would open up significantly more employment opportunities and improve my long-term career prospects.
My objective is to become financially independent and start earning again as quickly as possible and no longer depend on outside assistance.
What the Funds Will Be Used For
I am seeking around €2,500 to cover the essential costs of relocation and the transition period till the first payment, including:
- Accommodation deposit and first month's rent: approximately €800–1,000
- Basic living expenses (food, utilities, necessities) for the first 1–1.5 months: approximately €500–600
- Transport and relocation costs: approximately €100–200
- Fuel costs needed to begin delivery work and cover daily driving during the first weeks: approximately €300–500
- Basic equipment and work-related expenses required for delivery platforms: approximately €100–200
- Financial support for the initial transition period while I establish myself in a new city and build a stable income through delivery work: approximately €300–500
If the fundraiser exceeds its goal or if some relocation costs end up being lower than expected, any remaining funds would be used toward the first installment of an accounting course, which costs approximately €1,000.
My intention is not to rely on donations to complete my education. I would use any available remaining funds to begin the course, and I plan to cover the rest myself from my own earnings after I start working and receive my first income.
Why I Am Asking for Help
I am undertaking this transition on my own and currently do not have the financial resources necessary to relocate and cover the initial costs of starting over in a new city.
This fundraiser is not intended to fund a lifestyle or provide long-term support. It is a one-time helping hand that would allow me to access employment opportunities, begin earning income, improve my qualifications, and build a stable future.
Relocating would give me access to opportunities that simply do not exist where I currently live. It would allow me to start working almost immediately, continue searching for stable long-term employment, and take meaningful steps toward becoming fully self-sufficient.
Any contribution, regardless of the amount, would make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you may be able to provide.
