​Hi everyone! My name is Matei.

I am a digital media university student, a certified fitness instructor, and a visual storyteller currently based in Romania. I am deeply passionate about capturing life through documentary photography, designing digital spaces, and helping others build strength and confidence through fitness. But while I spend my life trying to capture authentic moments and coaching others, I am struggling every single day to feel at home in my own body.

​Top surgery is something I fundamentally need in order to live fully and at ease. Bodybuilding has been an absolute lifeline for me, helping me take control of my physical health and manage my dysphoria. However, training, working, and just simply existing while having to rely on tight, restricting binders is a constant physical and emotional pain. It’s an everyday reminder that my body doesn't align with the person I am and aspire to be. I cannot wear these restrictive layers for the rest of my life, and I am holding onto the hope that, with your help, I can finally take this step.

​Getting this surgery would completely change my reality. It would mean I can finally train freely, breathe without restriction, and step into society as my most authentic self.

​As a student balancing university, volunteer photography work for local NGOs, and trying to build a career, covering the full cost of this surgery on my own is simply not possible right now. Medical support for this type of care is incredibly limited and difficult to access here, which means I have to cover the full costs out of pocket.

​This surgery will not just alleviate my daily struggles with gender dysphoria; it will give me my physical freedom and my life back.
