My name is Martina, but you may have heard about me as Haloperrydoll. I work full-time — actually, closer to one and a half full-time jobs — as a psychiatrist, but photography has always been my safe space and creative outlet. I create dark, emotive imagery inspired by gothic elegance, mental health awareness, and alternative subcultures.
More and more people have been drawn to my work lately, and I want to take it to the next level. The lens I’ve dreamed of is the Canon RF 70-200 mm f/2.8 — a professional lens that can capture portraits with magical, cinematic depth and soft background blur, and perform beautifully in low-light concert photography.
Why Crowdfunding?
All my photography gear so far has been funded entirely from my own pocket. I’ll also be contributing to this goal myself through regular payments, because I don’t expect others to carry it for me — but this lens exceeds what I can realistically manage alone. There is an older version - but its weight is a great limitation for me. I’ve already gone through two complicated wrist surgeries with rehabilitation that cost me over 50,000 PLN — more than five times the price of this lens. That’s why weight savings of even 500 g make such a huge difference for me. At each concert I hold the camera above my head around half an hour at a time, and across a festival that adds up to three hours of strain. This lens isn’t just about image quality — it’s about making photography sustainable for me.
Every contribution — big or small — brings me closer to creating the haunting, timeless portraits and live concert shots I’ve always envisioned.

Goal
