Opis zrzutki
We are Jasna and Kim Mikkelsen, founders of the official association "Društvo za zaštitu i očuvanje posavske guske" based in Suvoj 31, Croatia.
A major scientific milestone is underway: Our association is proud to act as the core breeding and field partner in a comprehensive genetic study to officially recognize the Posavina Goose (posavska guska) as an autonomous breed. This vital research is led by top biodiversity expert Roman Ozimec and ADIPA, in close collaboration with renowned poultry scientists Prof. Zlatko Janječić and Assoc. Prof. Dalibor Bedeković from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture.
All the work and progress we have achieved so far has been built entirely by volunteers who are deeply passionate about preserving this breed.
While our academic partners drive the genetic research, our association is launching a parallel digital project to build a dedicated website and a digital exhibition. We want to digitalize everything because our goal is to make all information easily accessible and tailored for the younger generation, ensuring that the knowledge of this heritage lives on. This will make it possible to showcase the breed's history, biodiversity value, and cultural heritage to a global public.

You can read a deeply detailed feature article about our work and our mission, published by Tajdeed on Substack here: https://lnkd.in/p/dPNcP2A2
To secure the foundational funding needed for this phase, we have set a crowdfunding goal of 2,500 EUR. The donations collected will, in addition to the specific points below, also cover the co-financing portion that the association is required to fund on its own for the projects to be successfully implemented.
Your donation today will directly go towards:
€300 for the LAG Application: Hiring a professional organization to manage and submit our complex project application to the local LAG Call for Proposals through LAG "Zrinska gora - Turopolje" (Local Action Group "Zrinska gora - Turopolje"). This step is vital to unlock structural EU funds that will provide long-term financing for our website and digital exhibition.
Association Operational Continuity: Covering mandatory bookkeeping, bank fees, and legal compliance in Croatia to ensure our partnership in this major scientific study remains active and legally sound.
Digital Launch Buffer: Providing the necessary seed capital to start building the digital exhibition and outreach platform while our EU grants are being processed.
By helping us clear the €300 application hurdle and secure our basic operations, you are directly enabling the public, scientific, and financial path needed to save this critically endangered breed.
Thank you so much for backing European biodiversity and cultural conservation!
