Hi!
Have you ever whanted to play a proper medival game? There a lot of them out the but they are mostly phantasy mmo`s or waky in a way. They don`t fiil up the nish of a realystyc medival terms.
So....
I realy want to play a game like that, with my friends and create a good comunity around it, if you fell the same atleast a little, heare me out.
There are games like Kindom come which is a great game in many ways, but you can`t share that story, thou`s fighst, the joy of exploring with some one by envolving them in it. Theres erly projects like Renown, wich is a copy of rust in my opinion and its not quite about medival life or survival. I want to develope a gme that will be an open world ill list the benifits below and expand the idea after.
- Sandbox survival
- Large but seperated map with island biome system
- Multyculture (Yes a bit of a mix but in a good way)
- Realistik craft and resourse system
- Duel like fight aproach with soft target lock
- Building and basic teraforming
- Clan system
- Castle breach and ship fights
This is all out there in difrient games, some have a lack of logic in it, some a turning in a fun/trashy way. Which upsets me.
So i want to build up a team and direct it in a proper way, to build a perfect game. Im am not ambisios like Star citizen, but i know what to do with my passion.
How it will look:
Youll be found in a world allmost naked, as a pesent. Its up to u to grow from there. Find resourses, build a first house as you like, geare youre self up and go explore. Or stay there and make it a keep. Any way its a sandbox. You will see as many details as posible, in gear, in buildin options, in fights. But one thing at a time.
Building:
Its a mix between Space engeneers and Valheim. You will have building blok presets from difriend materials and qualyty, can be painted in a variety of logicaly suitble coloures. All so ich block will have 3 scale options Large, medium, and small. So You can economy resourses if you want to, or go max detail on ich structure if you want to. No time decay or pay to flag maintainens, but there will be decay to weathere conditions if a structure is made from low quality materials.
Crafting:
A detailed crafting is a dream, isn`t it? To make something unic or indivijual for a friend.
There will be 3 tiers of evry material, poore quality, suitable quality and great quality. It will determen the owerall outcome of a craft thrue few formulas. For example You want to craft an... Hatchet. You have poor quality wood, medium quality iron and great quality leather to wrap the handle. In resolt You will have a Medium quality Hatchet, leather will compensate wood quality and keep it togethere for longer. This way you dont have to run like crazy to find best of the bes materials, you can use othere materials to compensate fot bad ones and use you`re stock in stead of grinding the map.
About unicnes, lets look at the same hatchet. In craft proces evrything (exept the very basics) will start from a drawing (blueprint).
You come to the drawing table and start the project. You chose the handle its length, wood type, is it curved a bit, is it wrapet with lether or cloth, if yes wich ones? The head is it iron? Maybe its steel? What qualyty? What shape? Is it ingraved? What holding pin? What material? Is it covered or exoposed? and so on and so on. The list of options will be determent by youre profession skills the better blacksmith you are the more options of a blade you have. The better carpether you are the more handle options you have. Lets say u dont have a proper skill for the handle but you want to smith that hatcet. Well You may have a friend carpenter that can do it, You give the drowing to him and he makes that handle for you. Or find a nothere setelment and bargan for it with them. And now imagine same process with a sword or bregantine chest pies.
Surviving:
There will be 5 Island in a full release game, Ich will represent a difrient culture.
- Arabic 10-15 century
- Japan 10-14 century (Maybe China allso to ad variability as a difrint house or dynasty)
- German 10-15 century (Full plate will be there as an exeption)
- Scandinavia 8-11 century
This way you can play as youre favorite and have an actual reason to fight with otheres. It does not mean that you will have to. You cant build on otheres land and cant build at all on thers islands. But you can raid them, take the resourses slave the npc`s, get there technolygy from there slaves. And progress even more by that. The ebd game is a town or a keep or a catle that cannot be raded by a handfull of people. even after that you can travel as a raider or a mercant.
Desees, qualyty of life, food and water. Evrything will determen how long will you last.
If you die its not over, but you will have a drawback in youre stats but not percs.
Combat:
You will have a soft target lock on oponent ither it`s a man or animal. There will be two stands fore evrything high stand and low stand, Swich between stands will be realy fast. A stand will determen the directions of a strike and block. High stand gives you an option to strike from diaganal above and piers from below (frome senter). The low stand will give you strikes from diaginal below and piers from above. Same with bloking incoming strikes. It will be a system a bit hard to lern and very hard to master. Allthow it will be compensated by armoure and weapons realystyc. Youre combat skills will ad options on youre block and blows, adding propper parry an counter strikes.
Overall is a small sescription of what i`d like tu create and hope ill find the foundin to start it.
