Beschrijving

We provide a comprehensive package including hiking descriptions, interactive map, coordinates, tips, and much more.


The Astrakiano Gorge is located in the hinterland of Heraklion, in a typical landscape of this area. The path through the gorge also passes an old mill and the Fairy Cave, and it is not difficult. In some sections, the small path is not always clearly visible, as it has not been maintained for several years. This turns the whole experience into a little adventure through wonderfully wild nature, and at times, one has to be a bit creative when the old infrastructure is no longer what it once was.

 

 

The hike is not always possible year-round due to meteorological conditions (high water levels)!

The Astrakiano Gorge is located in the hinterland of Heraklion, in a typical landscape of this area. The path through the gorge also passes an old mill and the Fairy Cave, and it is not difficult. In some sections, the small path is not always clearly visible, as it has not been maintained for several years. This turns the whole experience into a little adventure through wonderfully wild nature, and at times, one has to be a bit creative when the old infrastructure is no longer what it once was.

 

 

The hike is not always possible year-round due to meteorological conditions (high water levels)!
