We are a couple, A and C, living in Romania who happened to adopt a cat (Chartreux) six years ago, and before we knew it, she gave birth twice! She's beautiful and kind, and we felt sorry for her to abort her pregnancy. And so we welcomed more 13 kittens, a few months apart. Since we live at the country side, she roamed free all around as we have plenty of space without dangers as speeding cars. We bottle fed her first round of kittens (seven) from week four as she, again, without us even guessing, befriended some tomcats and gave birth to six kittens. A month later, we rushed her to get her sterilized ASAP. So we placed most of her "kids" to friends from around and away. Only kept a daughter for ourselves, but the daughter was troublesome in double comparing to her mother, and gave us cute and nice grandkids, so that we care for some 14 cats in total. They are all sterilized now! Thanks to an animal association who made us a huge favor. We built them a cat hotel, all good, insulated, ventilated, clean sheets, heated when cold. They were dewormed and served cat food both dry and wet. It was alright for the last 6 years. But to our despair, starting in mid November, a number of viruses hit them mercilessly, and four of them died in the aftermath, time apart. We cried and rushed them to several different veterinarians until somehow managed to save most of them by frantic intensive care, medication both oral and IV, and so much more. Four of them, the young ones, one of 1,5 years, two of 1,1 years and one of 0,8 months are struggling with heavy breathing as a post treatment injury, we don't know yet and it's agonizing. They now have glottic edema or laringian stenosis and are in Paramount need of veterinary investigations which prices are debilitating either way. So we ask for help. We wish to help them heal and have a normal life before placing them into adoptive families. We were working on it when this sicknesses disaster hit: Feline Parvovirus/Panleucopenia, Enteric secondary infections, Respiratory Infections, Rhinothraheithis, Giardia Intestinalis, Dehydration, Dispneea, all coming one after another in a short time. We of course have our own health problems, one of us just found out about an autoimmune disease and the other is having hypertension that's worsening. Imagine we put all of our problems on standby, because these innocent, furry lives of ours are getting sick and dying. We were and still are devastated. It never happened something like this around here, we have the testimonies of local people. They all got their vaccines and some need further medical assistance. It's just one of those situations where you can no more do anything by your own and need to cry out for help. We got so far and can't watch them die now, a treatment away from a chance to life. Please, dear people, wherever you are, give us a helping hand, we can't do it on our own anymore.
