Dear friends,

My name is Lidia Lazăr, I’m from Buzău (Romania) and I have a 1.1-year-old dog called Patroclita.

Today I want to talk about Patroclita, who is very small, gentle and completely non-aggressive, and who was attacked by a security guard with pepper spray, sprayed directly in her face.

An extreme, unnecessary and inhumane act.

Such a small animal poses no danger. She cannot speak, cannot defend herself and does not understand why she is being punished with such cruelty. Fear is not combated with violence, and authority does not justify abuse.

With this message, I wish to launch an education and awareness campaign, aimed particularly at animals in shelters — creatures who have already been abandoned, are frightened, and depend on human kindness.

The aim of this campaign is to persuade as many people as possible to adopt, but also to encourage simple gestures that are just as important:

➡️ to visit these animals,

➡️ to give them time, attention and affection,

➡️ to learn that a gentle human presence can heal trauma.

Violence against the vulnerable says more about the aggressor than about the victim.

Animals feel pain, fear and trauma. They need protection, not brutality.

Education, empathy and responsibility are the only real solutions.
