Apraksts

Lets bring medical care together to the Romanian people leaving far away from bigger hospitals!

Hello there, my name is Dr. Galarza Esteban and I am an Ecuadorian doctor currently undergoing my 4th year of specialty in the field of Otorinolaringology and Head&Neck surgery in Bucarest România.

As a foreigner in România unfortunately I do not get the benefits of local medical residents in the same program as me (I don’t get a monthly salary, and I don’t get social security). Actually, I have to pay a tuition fee of $7000 per year and I also have to do a living in this lovely country that opened its arms to me.

Thanks to the sacrifice and support of family I am actually managing to have a decent living pin Romania while covering my basics needs but unfortunately I can not afford the luxury of owning a car yet.

Now, starting my fourth year of specialty I will finally be able to also work and get paid for it (the Romanian law for medical residents is made like this) in my field of expertise but the need of medical services is more crucial in the surroundings areas of the capital and other smaller cities where Rumanía faces a huge lack of medical personal and where many smaller hospitals can not even cover their emergency area requirements.

My goal is to be able to go from Bucarest (the city where I currently live in) to Târgoviște (a Romanian city 80 km away from bucarest) where the local hospital had already contacted me asking if I am interested in giving them a hand. And of course I am! But I still need to find an eficient and safe way to go back and forward for Bucharest to Târgoviște while also covering my responsibilities in the capital.

Im not looking for luxury nor pompous rides but rather just a way to keep on going in my career, to get more experience and to share the experience and preparation that I already have with any patient that needs it.

I had also tried to think in other possibilities to rise some money. I had worked in call centers for Spanish language, I had driven a bike delivering stuff trough Bucarest I had tried teaching Spanish among others things but time is tight while making an specialty and I had to gave up in each of this activities. Now that I will be doing emergency shifts things should be different but even then would be so hard rising enough money to pay a loan for example (as a resident in Romania you get something around $100 for each 24h shift so imagine paying a debt with such an income).

So this is my story, my situation, my reality and my desires to keep on going and moving forward.

If any of this makes also sense for anyone reading this description I would deeply appreciate any sort of contribution and who know, actually getting to the goal together!

Thank you very much for your time and effort of reading this!
