New hips for Sam
New hips for Sam
Apraksts
A sad story like many others. But so personal for me, as Sam, a Tatra Shepherd puppy, my long awaited baby-boy turned out to have severe hip dysplasia. That shocking verdict left our little family with no other option than both hips replacement that is being done in only several places in Europe. The cost is just out of our reach but can’t sentence this beautiful creature to spend the next 12-15 years in excruciating pain. Sam, a pup of 8 months and weight of 54 kg is unfortunately ineligible for a pelvic osteotomy! The only option BOTH HIPS REPLACEMENT! The cost is 11 thousand EURO! An amount for us and probably most of us impossible to get. I have spent my life helping unwanted animals, cats mostly, ending up adopting 3 of them. Sam was a new life added to our little family.
Unfortunately time is our enemy. The operation needs to be done within a year of his life as this particular breed reaches weight of approximately 70 kg and his hips will not be able to adjust to such a weight load.
We have found a couple of big companies that agreed to donate 1% of their tax for this cause at the verge of the year but this would have to go through an animal foundation. We asked each and every one of them in Poland. Offering that after Sam’s operation bills are paid we would donate the rest for they animals cause. All of them denied help!!!!
We managed to earn and collect enough money for over half of operation of one of Sam’s hips which is 3500EUR. Still missing 2000EUR. The other hip will cost another 5500EUR.
In the attachment you can find link to the collection from the Polish website where there is all medical documentation and a photo of Sam after the first half of operation operation.
Thank you in advance for any contribution you can spare.
