Hello everyone, my name is Iryna , and I am a mother of two wonderful children. We lived in Kherson, a city in southern Ukraine, when Russian troops came and occupied the area. We had to leave because of daily shelling, and looters were breaking into homes. In 2022, I fled the country with my children. Then, in 2023, when Russia withdrew from Kherson, they started dropping aerial bombs on houses. We lost everything, leaving us with only the children and the dog I took with me. The dog was also injured during the attacks. The government does not provide funds for private housing because the city is in a red zone, and it’s unclear when—or if—this support will ever come. Over these four years, I’ve been unable to save money to buy a home. Additionally, my mother remains on the left bank of the Dnipro River, still under occupation. She cannot leave because she cares for two orphaned children whose parents and grandparents died in March 2022. I would gladly bring them to my new home, which is why I’m reaching out to kind-hearted people and sponsors for help in raising funds to build a house.
