Pines - Guided Hike

Apraksts

Our hike starts in the mountain village of Pines, following a traditional path through fragrant maquis with oregano and thyme. We continue along gravel trails and between old stone walls to the historic mills of Pines, a perfect spot for a short rest. The route then leads through wild vegetation to a stunning viewpoint over Spinalonga, the former leper colony, and the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Elounda. For the return, we take an easier path downhill through olive groves, ending back in Pines with lasting impressions of this varied hike.

Note: Some sections are rough and overgrown – long trousers recommended! The tour is possible year-round.

Apraksts

Our hike starts in the mountain village of Pines, following a traditional path through fragrant maquis with oregano and thyme. We continue along gravel trails and between old stone walls to the historic mills of Pines, a perfect spot for a short rest. The route then leads through wild vegetation to a stunning viewpoint over Spinalonga, the former leper colony, and the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Elounda. For the return, we take an easier path downhill through olive groves, ending back in Pines with lasting impressions of this varied hike.
