Description
Dear Supporters!
My name is Dr Zoltán Suri. I have been living in Indonesia for twenty-four years, in the city of Jepara in Central Java, where I run a furniture manufacturing plant. Indonesia has become my home; I started a family here, and my little boy was born here too.
The past few months have been extremely difficult for us. My wife passed away on 23 March 2026 as a result of viral pneumonia. She was only 35 years old. Our thirteen-year-old son is currently being looked after by my sister-in-law in Indonesia, whilst I have to stay in Hungary to care for my elderly parents.
My greatest wish is to return as soon as possible to my son and to the community I consider my home.
However, that is not the only reason I am asking for your help.
When I first arrived in Indonesia years ago, a teacher friend of mine took me to a local secondary school. In one of the classes, I noticed that there were barely a few boys studying alongside the twenty girls. I asked where the others were. The answer was simple and sad: most boys of this age are already working to help their families, whilst many of the girls cannot continue their education because their parents cannot afford it.
That day, I vowed that if I ever had the chance, I would help. I am convinced that education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking out of poverty. Supporting even a single talented, hard-working young person can change the future of an entire family.
That is why I would like to set up a scholarship and support programme which, in collaboration with the local school, would help talented students living in difficult financial circumstances. The aim is to give them the opportunity to pursue college or university studies, which for many are currently nothing more than a dream.
We manage incoming donations with complete transparency. Donors receive regular updates on how funds are used, the programme’s progress, and the young people whose lives we are helping to steer in a better direction together.
My long-term goal is also to open up international study opportunities for the most outstanding students, potentially through collaboration with higher education institutions in Hungary.
Please help make this dream a reality. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring these young people have the chance to learn, to develop and to have a more dignified future.
Thank you for reading my story, and thank you for contributing to this mission.
