Hi, my name is Paweł and I want to tell you about the LawYeah app. But before I start, I'd like you to take a moment to think about the phrase: "Ignorance of the law excuses no one."

Sounds familiar, right?

Now, let’s break this down and see how absurd this argument can be in our times.

If you look at it closely, it’s like a chef expecting his team to prepare a Michelin-star dish without providing the recipe or ingredients, saying, "You should know this because others know it, because I know it!" It highlights unrealistic expectations without providing the basic tools for learning and skill development.

And this brings us to the crux of the matter. Law is a set of rules and regulations – theoretically accessible to all, but when we need to verify something, check a specific provision, or establish guidelines, we feel lost. Naturally, we seek help from a specialist: a lawyer, legal advisor, or attorney. Yet, we often still feel misunderstood, sometimes excluded, patronized. Our sense of security is disrupted, and we act under stress, fear, and haste. We lose time and money, often without getting actual support.

I’ll go further and say that this very scheme makes us equate understanding the law with performing open-heart surgery. We fail to realize that, in truth, we can solve the problem ourselves in a simple way, equipping ourselves with the right tools.

Sounds familiar? Most likely because I’ve been in such situations myself.

And that’s how the idea of creating an innovative tool came about, aiming to provide comprehensive legal advice to everyone, regardless of financial resources, place of residence, age, or life experience.

The goal of LawYeah is not only to provide advice HERE AND NOW but also to educate, raise awareness, and show that the law is not as complicated as it seems. Instead of wasting time, money, and health, you can take matters into your own hands. And manage it.

I started working on LawYeah in July 2023. To ensure the highest quality and usefulness, I have conducted four major updates so far, significantly improving the app's effectiveness from 69% to an impressive 87%. The errors that appear usually concern details, like confusing the word 'lawsuit' with 'petition', etc. Substantive errors are around 2%. Simultaneously, I am constantly optimizing LawYeah to achieve a zero-error rate.

The application is based on an artificial neural network used for natural language processing, utilizing deep learning concepts to generate accurate output sentences. It is integrated with a wealth of knowledge from various laws, statutes, and codes that exist in Polish law. Thanks to this combination, a universally accessible product is created, which not only explains complex legal issues in an understandable way but also provides personalized examples of problem-solving and further actions – all in accordance with rules and laws.

Currently, LawYeah operates on Facebook. Below, I present its capabilities in solving everyday problems in various legal jurisdictions (UK law, German law, US law, etc.)

FUNDRAISING GOAL:

The goal is to raise 30,000 Euros. This amount is needed to complete Phase III, which should end with the introduction of a prototype to the market, at least in a web form (i.e., on computers).

I will allocate the funding to:

• additional verification of answers by lawyers

• user support services

• programmers skilled in areas unfamiliar to me, who will be responsible for building certain parts of the application

• licenses and software legalization costs

• server and security

Since the beginning of the project, I have not supported myself with any grants; I have funded everything out of my own pocket and with the help of specialist friends.

I began this statement with words about public good, and I won’t forget it in the application either, as there will eventually be a free plan that includes generating a certain number of free advice sessions per month.
