On April 29, 2024 a very unusual weather phenomenon occurred: a mini tornado formed above our above our boathouse and picked up a lot of things including planks, oars and a couple of our boats. We managed to collect most of the blown away stuff. However, one of our boats suffered unrepairable damage. Our rowing club is not a well funded organization and it heavily relies on donations and voluntary work just for it's everyday operation. Therefore it's not prepared to recover from events like this one on it's own. We are raising money to pay for a new boat and oars.

About us: Danubius National Rowing Club

Our rowing club is a public benefit civil organization. Our goals are to promote rowing in our country, recruit and train high performing athletes who can perform on national/international level and provide a rowing opportunity for those who seek to row on a recreational level. Our club is located on Margaret Island in Budapest, Hungary. We row on the Danube, we have around 200 members and a healthy community.
