The A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation has been helping those in need around the world since 2019. Since our inception, we have reached Nigeria, Kenya, Sudan, Afghanistan as well as Palestine and Pakistan. As part of our partnership with the Nanga Parbat Children Education and Welfare Diamer Foundation, we are also implementing the 'Restore Hope to Children' and 'Support for Refugees' projects.

As part of the joint project 'Support for Refugees', we are very much asking for help for young people deported from Lithuania to Nigeria.

Joseph, Ebuka and Nonso found themselves in Lithuania after crossing the Lithuanian-Belarusian border and spent almost two years in Lithuanian refugee centres. There they experienced hell on earth - they were ill-treated, beaten and locked in solitary confinement. After months of Gehenna in Kibirati and Pabrade, they received residence cards in Lithuania and started to make a life for themselves there. They found work, which was to be their hope for a better future in a Europe that cares about human rights.

Unfortunately, after a short period of freedom, the Lithuanian authorities decided to deport them back to Nigeria. They were forcibly taken away from their jobs and locked up in a detention centre for foreigners and from there deported to a country where thousands of Nigerians are dying of starvation, terrorist attacks or kidnappings for ransom.

While in the centres in Lithuania, these young people befriended activists from Poland and Lithuania, who helped them survive the very harsh prison conditions and fought to stop the deportations. Unfortunately, in December 2022, the young Nigerians were sent back to their homeland, which is a very dangerous country.

Upon their return to Nigeria, our young friends are suffering like millions of Nigerians. The country is in economic collapse and the Nigerian government is doing nothing to change this. Crime is on the rise due to lack of jobs, and the ever-increasing price of fuel and food is causing more and more Nigerians to starve to death.

After their deportation, Joseph, Ebuka and Nonso were banned from applying for new passports for several months. It is as if the Nigerian government was very keen that they should not go anywhere, but in fact it was more part of the agreement between Nigeria and Lithuania. The European Union and Lithuania do not want Africans and have issued a five-year ban on them coming to the Shengen Zone and Lithuania.

Now that they can apply for passports, they have a chance for a better future. They can apply for work visas to another country outside the European Union. However, to do this we need your support, Dear Donors.

We need to raise €2500 for three guys so they can pay for their new passports and the fees for their work visas to a safe country (very far from Europe).

Let us help our friends to fulfil their dream. Let's help them get out of a country where millions of people are starving due to poor economic conditions and lack of prospects.

Nigeria is a country where more than 100 million people live in multidimensional poverty and, according to the latest OCHA figures, more than 9 million children could die of starvation in 2024.

Let's give a chance for a better life to three of our friends we know from camps in Lithuania.
