My name is Richard Kosche and I am 65 years old. I have lived and worked in the UK for the last 18 years. I moved from Poland to the UK with my two daughters, who also had no mother. They went to school there and have lived there ever since. They are now grown up and have families of their own. I decided to move to Cambodia in 2023. I met a very valuable woman there. NaDea was a Khmer woman who lived 20 years in Thailand. There she had a husband with whom she had a child, NomPoy. The father of this child left them and she returned to Cambodia to her home town of Pursat. Because of the difficult financial conditions, the child stayed with her mother and she went in search of work. This is how we met in January this year and have been together ever since. About two months ago, her mother, NomPoy's grandmother, died and I decided to have the child come to us. Since then we have been together. We had an amazing bond and I loved Nadiya and her child very much. We had a wonderful time together until 02.11.2024. NaDea passed away. She had a severe internal disease and was unsalvageable. The child is 10 years old and was orphaned. I asked her if she wanted to stay with me or return to her extended family. She replied that she absolutely wanted to stay with me. I also spoke to her family, who accepted this. Now it remains for me to deal with all the legal formalities to become her legal guardian. This is a big cost for the conditions here, so I am asking for financial support. In addition, I have to provide the child with decent housing, schooling in English, food, clothing and everything else that is necessary at this age. At the moment, the child is with me and I think that, despite this traumatic situation, she is happy with me. I am slowly getting her a good school and the necessary supplies. I would like to use the money from the collection to pay for lawyers so that I can become her legal guardian and for clothes and other necessary items.
