Peace. Opportunity. Education. Partnership. — Building African and international cooperation for sustainable progress.

APEFADO is an existing Africa-focused organisation entering a renewed phase of development. The initiative connects African expertise, local initiative, diaspora, institutions, businesses and international partners to advance peace, economic opportunity, education, culture, innovation and practical development through partnership rather than paternalism.

APEFADO – Africa Peace, Economic Freedom and Development Organization

Africa as a partner. People as drivers of development.

APEFADO was established years ago and is now entering a renewed phase of organisational and operational development. The objective is not to create another traditional aid structure. It is to build a partnership platform through which African initiative, expertise, entrepreneurship, culture and local responsibility can connect with international knowledge, institutions, networks and resources.

A new approach to development

For too long, international communication about Africa has often been reduced to poverty, crisis and the idea that development must come from outside. APEFADO starts from a different premise: Africa is an increasingly important economic, social, cultural and geopolitical partner with enormous human, entrepreneurial and creative potential. Development works best when people are able to shape it themselves and when international cooperation strengthens that capacity rather than replacing it.

What APEFADO stands for

PEACE – dialogue, cooperation, social stability, conflict prevention and the foundations of collective security.

ECONOMIC FREEDOM – entrepreneurship, local value creation, market participation, innovation and economic independence.

EDUCATION – knowledge, schools, vocational skills, digital capabilities, science and lifelong learning.

CULTURE – heritage, creativity, self-representation and the cultural confidence required to imagine and build a better future.

DEVELOPMENT – practical projects that remove concrete barriers to progress, from infrastructure and sustainability to health, water and community resilience.

PARTNERSHIP – cooperation between African actors, the diaspora, institutions, NGOs, universities, businesses and international supporters.

Connection with the IADB

APEFADO is intended to be integrated as a branch association within the wider international framework of the IADB – International Association of the Dynasty of Babenberg. This connection is intended to provide organisational and international synergies while APEFADO maintains its own Africa-focused identity, programmes and project responsibility.

More than fundraising

This campaign is not only about money. APEFADO is also looking for people who want to contribute expertise, contacts, ideas, partnerships, time or project responsibility. We particularly welcome African voices, local expertise and the African diaspora, alongside international partners who want to build on equal terms.

Development phases

Phase 1 – Reactivation & Governance

Update the organisational foundation, documentation, responsibilities and operating model.

Phase 2 – Communication & Digital Base

Build the public profile, digital collaboration, communication and project-information structures.

Phase 3 – Network & Partnerships

Reconnect and expand relationships across Africa, the diaspora, NGOs, education, culture, business and international institutions.

Phase 4 – Pilot Programmes

Launch selected, measurable programmes in education, entrepreneurship, culture, innovation and community development.

Phase 5 – Operational Coordination

Create the project-management and coordination capacity needed to manage partners, funding and reporting.

Phase 6 – Expansion

Scale successful approaches and develop larger dedicated projects that may later have their own funding and partnership structures.

First funding target: EUR 100,000

EUR 12,000 – Reactivation & Governance

EUR 15,000 – Communication & Digital Base

EUR 18,000 – Network & Partnership Building

EUR 20,000 – Education / Entrepreneurship / Culture Pilots

EUR 15,000 – Community Resilience / Humanitarian Pilots

EUR 10,000 – Operational Coordination

EUR 10,000 – Compliance, Documentation & Reserve

If the full target is not reached

APEFADO will still move forward. The project is deliberately structured in phases. Available resources will first be used to create a functioning organisational base, communication capability and network. Pilot programmes will then be implemented at the scale that the available funding allows. Underfunding means slower or smaller implementation – not failure.

If the target is exceeded

Additional funding will accelerate the same development objectives: more pilot programmes, earlier regional expansion, stronger operational coordination, broader partnerships and the preparation of larger dedicated projects. Overfunding expands and accelerates the mission; it does not change it.

How you can contribute

Support financially. Contribute expertise. Open your network. Connect institutions. Share local knowledge. Help develop a pilot. Become a partner. Take responsibility where your experience and commitment can make a difference.

People • Partnership • Progress

APEFADO is built on a simple idea: when people, knowledge, networks and resources meet on equal terms, development becomes something people build together – not something done to them.
