My mother has been in the hospital since February. She has advanced Parkinson's disease and when she went in her kidneys were failing. Despite the doctors telling me not to have high hopes, her kidneys improved. However her general condition deteriorated and now she's on a feeding tube and is lost in her own world. The hospital has discharged her and wants her out of the hospital but she needs to go to an assisted care home. Unfortunately it will take around 4 months before she can get into one which means I'll have to put her in a private home until then. These are expensive and we are unable to cover the full cost. My only other option would be to sell the house, but then I will be in the streets as I won't be able to afford anything else.
