Hi.

My name is Grzegorz Olko, I am 43 years old, I have a wife and two children (son 13 and daughter 8), I live in Przemyśl (Poland). I have been working as a paramedic in the Przemyśl Emergency Medical Service for 20 years.

In 2016, I suffered from adenoid cystic cancer of the submandibular salivary gland (unfortunately, it is rare and malignant). I underwent two surgeries and radiotherapy and I really believed that everything would be fine. Unfortunately, after four years, in 2020, I was diagnosed with lung metastases. And the fight started again. Another surgery, this time on the chest (removal of nodules from the right lung) and radiotherapy of the remaining lesions in both lungs.

And again for a moment I enjoyed life, family, work... and the year 2022 came, new lung metastases again and radiotherapy again ☹️.

The next two peaceful years allowed me to enjoy being alive and actively spending time with my family and working. This year, two nodules on the lungs started to grow again, but as if that wasn't enough, after eight years there was a local recurrence... this time this insidious cancer attacked my mandibular nerve, giving me very unpleasant symptoms that progress with the growth of cancer cells.

After many consultations, it turned out that at the moment there is no treatment available for me in Poland. The only thing that can stop the progression of the disease is carbon ion therapy, available in the MedAustron clinic in Austria. After sending the medical documentation to them, the therapy was valued at almost EUR 57,000.

Unfortunately, this is an amount that an ordinary person does not have ☹️. And time counts. That's why I'm forced to ask for help. I am still professionally active, fit, and try to actively spend time with my family.

 I would like to be able to support my family for as long as possible and work professionally for many more years. But for this you need health, and to achieve it you need treatment for which I lack the funds. I will be grateful for any help. Grzegorz Olko
