Hi,

My name is Agata. So far, happy, full of spirit, almost indestructible, mother of a wonderful son, a lovely rascal, a little terrorist who turned my life upside down and made me experience an incredible feeling, one of a kind, a feeling of selfless love.

However, despite my positive attitude to life, scientific and professional passion, and crazy personality, I was shocked. Less than a year ago, something incredible happened, the day after my birthday, on March 18, 2022, I was diagnosed with right breast cancer with metastases to the lymph nodes.

The first thought, "I'm going to die"... well, yes, because...

and I realized that death had knocked on the door, that life was not a fairy tale but a fight, and that now I would have to face another task, "the fight for life."

The diagnosis for the right breast is:

Infiltrating ductal carcinoma NOS G2 (7 points) with a high degree of malignancy (DCIS HG):

Biological subtype: Luminal B HER2-negative

ICD10 PL: C50 – malignant tumor of the right breast

Diagnosis for the left breast:

-Category B2 – mild change

For completeness, genetic testing revealed BRCA2 MUTATIONS.

During countless studies conducted at the National Institute of Oncology. Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Gliwice, mammography of the right and left breast, core needle biopsy of the right and left breast, fine needle biopsy of the tumor in the lymph nodes, PET/CT scan, MRI of the breast, MRI of the brain, ultrasound tests, numerous blood tests, and tests genetic, I was qualified for ddAC-P treatment (preoperative chemotherapy) as well as radical amputation of the right breast and prophylactic amputation of the left breast.

Currently, I have survived the first stage of chemotherapy treatment, which consisted of 4 cycles of red chemotherapy and 11 cycles of white chemotherapy, as well as countless drugs. I survived, but the scale of the damage, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, mouth ulcers, general weakness and fatigue, proctological and gastric problems, stress related to my mother's cancer, and the obvious lack of hair, made it impossible for me to work regularly.

Savings are disappearing at an alarming rate, medicines, travel and treatments are not covered by reimbursement, future treatments include: prophylactic lymphatic-venous anastomosis (LVA) surgery, future reconstruction of both breasts is a high cost, and during the course of the disease, the work and the possibility of collecting such a large amount are very difficult.

Don't wait - check your breasts!
