Kirjeldus
Hello, we are Ramona and Catalin, Aylin’s parents. We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts, but with the profound hope that human solidarity can save our family from a terrible crisis.
Our baby girl was born prematurely at just 8 months, on November 1st, 2024, via C-section. She came into this world with severe anemia—her hemoglobin was at 5 and bilirubin at 18, both critical and life-threatening values. During the pregnancy, we had already gone through countless tests and medical expertise that completely drained our financial resources. Yet, we found ourselves facing that same giant wall once again: "Money."
In the very first minutes of her life, doctors performed an emergency blood transfusion, but it wasn't enough. Later that day, the doctor gave us devastating news: "Please tell us what name you want to give your baby. We might have to call the priest tonight, as we don't know if she will survive." We froze. We simply didn’t know what to say. My wife stayed by her side in the hospital, holding onto a fraction of hope. The next day, our little girl was still fighting under the phototherapy lamps. Another transfusion followed, with the same uncertain results. But she proved to be a true fighter.
At home, our other two older children kept asking when mom and their baby sister were coming home. "I don't know," I told them, "but mom is well, she is full of hope, and she is right there next to your sister to give her strength." That was all I could manage to say. Two more weeks of transfusions followed. Hope began to grow as our baby girl started recovering, but our financial situation had long been completely shattered. Friends, relatives, banks—we sank deeper and deeper into debt.
After 21 agonizing days, Aylin finally came home. However, our struggles were far from over. Her Rh factor wouldn't stabilize, and we had to start all over again. Clinics, hospitals, and four more blood transfusions followed. She also required a crucial 6-month antibody treatment with a vaccine called "Synagis." This vaccine was vital for her survival, but we had absolutely no support left from those around us. At the very last moment, a solution appeared: we managed to borrow the money. She completed the 6-month treatment, but now, how do we pay it back? With heavy interest. In the end, nothing else mattered because our little girl was getting better. Her last transfusion was on December 22nd. She was discharged on Christmas Eve, and we were able to celebrate Christmas together as a family.
To cover the endless clinic fees, medications, and hospitalizations, my wife had to stop working. She couldn't pay her state health insurance, meaning we had to pay for all hospital services out of pocket, accumulating massive debts. Today, we face a painful reality: after surviving the medical nightmare, we are now just trying to survive from day to day under the crushing pressure of debts.
Once the doctors finally confirmed that our daughter was perfectly fine, the children stayed home with their grandmother so we could work. My wife found a job too. But it wasn't enough. We started working even harder, both taking on two jobs each. For 2-3 months, we only saw our children late at night or once every two or three days. Our older children began to feel our absence deeply. We no longer spent time with them, we didn't go to the park, we didn't help with their homework. We were missing from their lives.
We have reached the absolute end of our strength and solutions. The only option left is to sell our house—our only place of peace, the home we worked a lifetime for, and the only stable roof over our children's heads. We desperately do not want to sell our home after so much suffering.
How can we look at our children now and tell them we have to sell our house, pack up, and move into a single room just to pay off debts? The bank is crushing us with penalties, and acquaintances are knocking on our door every single day demanding their money back.
This is why we have started this campaign on 4fund. The funds we raise will go directly toward paying off these urgent debts, allowing us to keep our home and finally begin to heal as a family. Any donation, no matter how small, or a simple share brings us closer to keeping our children safe under our own roof.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
