For the second year I have been working on the restoration of a 1992 Škoda Favorit Sport Line. This is a vehicle that my girlfriend inherited from her grandfather, who 5 years ago started the renovation with the intention of giving her granddaughter a wedding present in the form of her dream car from the poster she dreamed of since childhood. Grandpa was quite handy and meticulous, he welded almost completely and cut off the bodywork and every part that was going to be disassembled he bought new and replaced including new bolts. Unfortunately Grandpa died before we were married and the project was left unfinished. The car is almost finished and technically brand new (engine completely overhauled, new chassis to the bolt, complete new windows, exhaust system and original interior wrapped in plastic and refurbished with maximum equipment). I welded the remains , sprayed with epoxy against corrosion and started to gradually assemble the car to the current stage ( grandpa left the bare body and piles of boxes ), but after a hard life lesson , when we lost our apartment and girlfriend lost her job , I do not have enough money to bring the project to the final stage in the quality that grandpa would have wanted for her . The car needs a new paint job which needs to be done by a specialist vintage car company to give the car the original full 1992 paint job and earn the vintage certification. The goal is to be able to finish everything within six months and then ask my girlfriend to marry me in the completed vehicle.
