Run with Jakab! – A Chance at Life Fundraiser
Little Jakab endured such horrors until the age of one that no pet deserves: he was beaten, shot at and hit by a car. He could count on no help or kindness from his “owners”. Although his past has left its mark on his body, Jakab’s spirit remains unbroken. His love for people, his zest for life and his enthusiasm are qualities that everyone can appreciate: that’s what dogs are like. They are wonderful.
Jakab’s rescue and recovery would not have been possible without the selfless work of FAPF volunteers and the generous donations of supporters. Jakab spent one month in hospital undergoing rehabilitation; it took countless physiotherapy sessions, medication and nutritional supplements for Jakab to be able to live a full life again after a year.
We would like to support the work of the Füzesabony Animal Protection Foundation (FAPF), so we are delighted to be joining the Hard Dog Race – a running race with dogs – on 28 September, where volunteers, adoptable dogs and dogs already adopted from the FAPF will take to the HDR course as part of the FAPF team, with the aim of raising awareness of our mission: adopt a dog, find your lifelong friend among the dogs in the FAPF’s care.
By taking part in the competition with Jakab, we want to prove that miracles happen every day: the broken little puppy who came in from the streets is now lining up at the start and showing that there is no obstacle we cannot overcome together. During our fundraising campaign, we ask you to support our cause and help us overcome the obstacles – both in the HDR competition and in real life!
FAPF is constantly rescuing dogs and cats from the darkest corners of Heves County, often bringing them back to life from the jaws of death. The ever-increasing veterinary costs of rescues, funding their neutering programmes, and placing dogs in rented kennels in cases where there is no temporary foster home represent a constant heavy burden.
With your help and donations, we want to ensure that more puppies can find safety, good health and loving homes!
Thank you! Jakab, Ramen and Brigi 🐕🦺 🦮 👩🦰
