Help an Auschwitz survivor fight for the truth. Let’s not let lies win.

He is 100 years old. He survived a German extermination camp. He lost his fellow prisoners, his youth and his health.

Today he must fight once more — this time for historical truth and the honour of the victims.

Stanisław Zalewski, a former Auschwitz prisoner, has objected to the term ‘Polish concentration camps’ used by foreign media. It is a lie that:

shifts the blame from the German perpetrators onto the victims,

distorts the history of the Second World War,

hurts former prisoners and their families,

damages Poland’s reputation around the world.

Unfortunately, a Polish court of appeal has ruled that a Polish citizen cannot demand an apology from foreign media, even when such a blatant lie is directed at them. At the same time, the court has allowed the possibility of seeking compensation — which means a further, difficult and costly legal battle.

Why do we need your help?

This case is not just about one man.

It concerns:

defending the truth about German extermination camps,

opposing the falsification of history,

the dignity of all Holocaust victims,

the future — because if we accept a lie today, tomorrow it will become ‘fact’.

Stanisław Zalewski is not fighting for himself.

He is fighting for his deceased fellow prisoners, who no longer have a voice.

the costs of further legal proceedings in Poland and abroad,

legal services and expert opinions,

translations, documentation and actions necessary to defend historical truth.
