Description
Dear Stakeholders!
Since the first commemoration in Buda Castle in 1997, I have dedicated my life to organising commemorative tours, making reports with veterans, and to the excavation and care of military graves. With the support of a great community of comrades, I have written and published a book on the undeservedly forgotten military heroes and martyred priests of our beloved capital, which will be published in 2021. After that, I felt the time had come to continue our value-saving and value-creating activities with my comrades in a legally functioning association. We would like to make a film, based on memories, documented events and stories, about our Hungarian soldiers who participated in the defensive battles of the siege of our beloved capital and then, in one of the most hopeless military undertakings in our history, in the breakout. There are excerpts from some 40 books, some half a page, others several pages of better and better recollections. We would like to put together a good, authentic script from these, and then use it as the basis for a feature film rich in combat action. The idea is to show the heroism and hard struggle of our undeservedly forgotten Hungarian soldiers. To put in its place, or more precisely to wash away the many disgraces and lies that have been perpetrated for decades by foreign-minded people. The film should have 4-6 main characters, so that it is not fragmented and can be followed. So we would have about 40 flashbacks in the stories of these few protagonists. In addition, we would like to commemorate the women who were raped, our martyred priests and the civilians who lost their lives in the fighting.
We shot the first footage in the Buda Hills in January 2023. With our short film, we managed to reach the management of the National Film Institute, who promised to make this film. Unfortunately, we have since realised that we are getting nothing but empty words. That is why we would like to go public with this short film, so that the Hungarian people can see and feel it, so that we can commemorate our former heroes and their bravery, which are remembered in our family albums, in the pictures of soldiers that we treasure. We can tell and present their fate in the Second World War. We owe them that much. With joint efforts, with help, with any support, we can make this dream a success.
We trust that there is spiritual identification and compassion for our soldiers who participated in the defence of our beloved capital. We hope that by joining forces we can make this common dream a reality.
