Description
Dear Supporters and Kind-hearted People, It is with a heavy heart, but for the sake of our children’s future, that I am setting aside all my pride to turn to you. I have never asked for help in my life, but my family is now in such a critical situation that our children’s safety and the roof over their heads are at stake. I am a 41-year-old mother. I have been battling Crohn’s disease since I was 15, and the long-term illness has now completely sapped my health, so I am currently on a disability pension. My fixed monthly income is just 87,000 forints. My husband works in the construction industry; he is paid weekly, which amounts to a maximum of 50,000 forints a week. The rest goes into a bank account to cover our loan repayments! It is from this extremely meagre and uncertain budget that we are raising our two children with love.Previously, in the hope that our family would grow further, we took out the Babaváró loan. Unfortunately, despite all our efforts and wishes, we were unable to have a third child. This painful failure has also plunged us into a huge financial trap: we are left with the loan, and our living costs have suddenly become unbearable.Although we are currently able to pay off our loans and utility bills – at a superhuman cost – because we are terrified of losing our home, there is almost nothing left for daily food, covering our living expenses after paying the bills, and providing basic clothing for our children. We find ourselves in a very difficult and hopeless situation; even providing our daily bread is a cause for serious concern. We are not asking for support for luxuries or unnecessary items. We are praying for temporary help with our children’s food and clothing until we get through this difficult financial crisis and can keep a roof over their heads.Any small donation, non-perishable food or children’s clothing in good condition would be a huge lifeline for us to survive. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our letter, and I am grateful for every little bit of help that can give our children hope. With respect and gratitude, Évi Tóth
