Hi there! An interview I did back in early May has been published; it’s not short, but at least it’s a good length. 😅 If anyone’s interested in my ramblings, you can read it here: There are a few mistranslations in there, but I hope it’s still understandable.

Description
Dear Friends, Acquaintances and Strangers!
My name isDóra Vita, and I am 47 years old.
In January this year, I was diagnosed with glioblastoma (WHO grade 4). This is an extremely aggressive type of brain tumour. Within a short space of time, it had grown a tumour of nearly 6 centimetres around itself; it is only thanks to the extremely rapid neurosurgical intervention that it did not kill me immediately. I would like to take this opportunity to thank, among others, Dr István Kapás and Dr Levente Ilyés for their help.
It all started with a stiff neck at the beginning of January; I thought I’d simply slept on it, as this had happened before. The following week I started vomiting; I couldn’t concentrate or even read, which made me suspicious. I was lucky because I managed to get an appointment at a private neurology practice by Friday. The doctor there was very quick-witted; he told me to head straight to A&E. We got there around four in the afternoon, and by half past one in the morning we had the diagnosis: the CT scan showed there was something in my brain that shouldn’t be there. I was taken straight to hospital, where further tests were carried out over the weekend. They told me it was a life-threatening condition, so on Monday morning I was first on the surgery list. Fortunately, the operation went well, but based on the biopsy results, even with chemotherapy and concurrent radiotherapy, my life expectancy is only about 16 months.
I brooded over it for a while, then decided to take up the gauntlet and do whatever it takes to drive the evil out of my body. 😊 I learnt from my fellow sufferer, Ádám Pásztory, that there is a treatment developed in Germany that costs 80,000 euros. It consists of two parts: the diagnostics cost €20,000, and the production of the personalised vaccine costs a further €60,000. This immunotherapy has achieved very good results; there are patients who have already reached the six-year survival mark and are currently doing well. An article on the procedure can be found here in Nature. Unfortunately, this procedure is not available in Hungary, and the National Health Service does not cover it either. We have set out on this path, but we are starting with a loan.
So now I am turning to you: please help me raise this amount! Many small contributions add up to a lot; the sea is vast, yet it is made up of drops – even the price of a coffee or a bar of chocolate counts. I believe I still have plenty to do here on Earth. Without claiming to be exhaustive: my brother, for example, reckons I still have loads of animals to save, and I’ve got to cook his favourite catfish paprikash for his 70th birthday. 😅 And my mum said I absolutely must outlive her, and she’s planning on living for at least another 20 years. ❤️ So there’s no getting around it, I’ve got to buckle down and get better; there’s no other option.
The fundraising is being done in euros because we have to pay the clinic for the treatment in euros, so any fluctuations in the forint-euro exchange rate won’t affect the outcome of the fundraising.
If you’d like to support my recovery (and for which I can offer nothing but my gratitude), you can do so in the following way:
Look for the red ‘Donate’ button!
Under the ‘4fund.com team’ section, you can set the percentage that goes to the developer. The default is 20%, but you can lower it.
You will also need to provide your email address.
Many thanks to everyone who helps.
