Food for horses rescued from the slaughterhouse

7 years ago, I found out that Romsilva, the state company that manages the purebred horses in Romania, was selling horses for slaughter. I bought the horses then, without even seeing them first, with all the money I had at the time. I took care of them and gave them freedom on the mountain pastures in the area where I live. But at 1250 m altitude, summer is short and grass can provide food for a maximum of 5 months. All these years I have sold houses, land, cars, forestry equipment and everything I could, to secure the funds necessary to buy food. All the income from the tourist villas that I exploit in Predeal went towards the same goal. This year, however, tourism has been extremely weak and I have not yet managed to sell the plots of land that I still own in Predeal. It seems that there is simply no money in the market and the necessary mood for purchases or vacations is also missing. So we are in trouble right on the eve of the winter holidays and the almost 50 horses, of which the mares are about to give birth, have food for a maximum of one week. Here the temperatures are at the limit of freezing and there is absolutely no natural food. Feed has become more expensive and so has transportation. During the winter, the monthly costs for hay amount to 6000 euros and the impossibility of making minimal supplies brings the risk of having to buy even more expensive ones in certain periods. I therefore appeal to the goodwill of everyone who has the opportunity to help, to contribute to providing the necessary food for the horses.

Because I have tourist villas in the mountains, in the Predeal resort, I am happy to offer a reward consisting of free stays, as a humble sign of my gratitude to those who will contribute to saving my dear horses.

Of course, any of the donors can come visit the horses whose rescue they contributed to and can use them for free for leisure.
